Beverly Wins Jimmy Fund 12 Tournament

The Beverly 12's won the Jimmy Fund Tournament in a thrilling 1 run game over Gloucester. Unlike the first game between these two teams in which Beverly scored 16 runs, runs were hard to come by in this game.

Ethan G. pitched a great game for Gloucester holding Beverly to just 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 8. But Dylan Hunter, who pitched the full six innings for Beverly, was able to do a little better. Dylan threw 76 pitches giving up only 4 hits and striking out 6. Dylan cruised through most of the game. In the top of the third, Gloucester loaded the bases on 2 singles and walk with only 1 out. Dylan got out of the jam by getting the next batter to ground into a fielder's choice back to the mound and getting the runner out at home. Then he struck out the next batter to end the inning.

Beverly also struggled to get the runs across. But in the bottom of the fifth, Ryan Avila hit in the game's only run with a single to score Alvin Polanco who had reached on a double and went to third on a passed ball.

In the sixth, Beverly held Gloucester after they put a runner on to complete the shutout.

Congratulations to the team on their Championship to close out their Little League careers.
