Dear Beverly Little League Community,

We write to provide an update on our spring 2020 baseball season.  On March 13, Beverly Little League announced the delay of league activities due to the expanding health crisis.  At this time, Beverly Little League remains in suspended status at least through May 11 as recommended by Little League International, and to comply with the Governor’s closure orders and the strict health and safety measures instituted by the City of Beverly.  We are in contact with the Mayor’s office and District officials, and we are monitoring information from Little League International.  The Board is also in communication about options for the season and preparations in the event baseball opens in Beverly this year, including enhanced protocols that will be required if we get the green light for league activities.  Unfortunately, we are still not sure of a start date, or whether we will be able to open for play.  The Board is determined to explore all reasonable options.  However, the health and safety of all league members and their families remains our primary focus.  We will provide further updates on the season as soon as available.

We reiterate that all city fields are closed, and the Board prohibits all team practices.  Beverly Little League respects the Mayor’s directives not to engage in any group activities, no matter how limited.  Little League International has posted on its website individual drills that you can try at home if you are interested in baseball activities.  We encourage you to check out the online resources available for players and coaches during this time of continued social distancing.
