2020 Season Cancelled

The Board voted last evening not to play the spring/summer 2020 baseball season. The Board’s final decision to cancel this season was hard and is disappointing because the goal was to play. Ultimately, this is the responsible result under the current circumstances after the Board carefully and deliberately considered and weighed of all the various factors and interests.

Rest assured, the Board, in reaching this tough decision, did not overlook the desire to play voiced by a number of our families and the offers to help received by many volunteers. The League is grateful to all who responded. This continued support, despite these difficult times, demonstrates the strength of our League. The Board is confident that Beverly Little League will sustain and will thrive as Massachusetts’s oldest chartered league. The League looks forward to getting teams of kids back out on the city fields to play and enjoy baseball again as soon as possible depending on the ongoing health crisis, hopefully by next spring.

The League, over the coming weeks, will issue refunds of paid registration fees to all families who have not yet received reimbursement for the 2020 season.

Once again, the Board sincerely appreciates the dedication to Beverly Little League shown by the entire community throughout this process and during these challenging times that have impacted everyone in many different ways.
